The Academic Quadrant enables intellectual potential to be realised whilst instilling a love of learning through imaginative, fun and motivating teaching.

All pupils are supported through a broad and balanced curriculum as they move up the school with a strong emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy in the Early Years. This, combined with an innovative and creative focus to inspire young and inquisitive minds means that academic progress is rapid.

We have a strong focus on our digital strategy, incorporating the use of technology within lessons by using iPads to support learning. In Computing lessons pupils learn to code and understand robotic systems.

 

Specialist teaching as pupils move through the Prep School ensures that academic subjects such as Engineering, Science, Modern Foreign Languages, the Humanities, Technology, as well as Maths, English and Reasoning are all taught at a high level so that pupils’ varied interests are fired and they acquire knowledge and skills for life.

Of course, exams are passed along the way: pupils work towards 11+ and 13+  exams which push GCSE standard, whilst pupils participate successfully in regional and national competitions. Equally, we believe that learning should be presented in a way that broadens horizons and engages pupils’ interest, instilling a passion to discover.

Our pupils go on to some of the UK’s leading senior schools, often with scholarships. They are well-prepared for any Senior school entrance exams that they may face.
